This work day was a little bit of a fail. It stinks when nothing is going the way you want it to go.

On a positive note, I got a ton of new ideas to work with, but that also means I have to figure out how am I going to be able to execute these ideas.

Maybe a popup book or a shadow box, but that would mean I would have to cut out a bunch of layers, though I really like that idea and the effect it would give. I think the dimension will give the corals more life, than if it were a flat print.

What was the most difficult part for me was making a gradient with the inks. Balancing the right amount of ink so its not too much or too little is really hard when making an ombre effect. I was only able to achieve it once, and you’ll see it is still not perfect, but SO much better than my failed attempts.

I carved away some of the extra marks around the corals, and I’m pleased how it turned out.

I needed to take a break, and will update with this weeks progress soon.
