Logo Design Research 1

The first step in researching the process of a personal logo design led me to this website. Where I was able to begin learning about the process involved to create a professional logo for my graphic design portfolio.

In a 6 step process the author explains how to begin the creative process.

  1. Write a Creative Brief : Write a summary of your personal brand. What kind of message do I want to portray? Who is my target audience? What are some due dates?
  2. What variation of my name do I want to use?
  3. Inspiration: Mood board and list of words that describe my work, and my personality
  4. Thumbnails of the font and typeface variations, some including icons, learn about the 7 types of logo designs.
  5. Refine the Concept: Focus on one or two ideas. Maintain balance in the composition. Be mindful of how the elements work together in the logo. Try to utilize negative space. Be bold in the design.
  6. Color Selection: What colors suit my brand? Keep in mind that this will have to be converted to a Pantone color to ensure consistency. Make sure that the logo looks good in color and black and white.
  7. Evaluate: Does the final product align with the creative brief I planned out? Hold yourself accountable to the due dates set. Ask for feedback from peers.

I am not sure if the eyes are something you want to incorporate in your logo, but definitely check out @beverlysalas on instagram. she is an artist and her whole brand is surrounded on her trippy eye designs.
