I did a small composition today of gouache on paper to showcase my process for creating abstract art from an image.

This is the image I used as inspiration
This is what I created. I switched the positioning of the photo. I used the reference photo as a guide but ultimately I paint how I’m feeling and create my own composition.

This won’t be one of my final paintings, but just a quick painting to get my ideas flowing.

    This looks so cool!! Your gouache painting looks and feels like I’m staring at a Petri dish of bacteria through a microscope lens 🙂

    I agree with Sarrah about the petri dish feel. What is your source image-carmelized sugar? Keep up the composition, color and paint application experimentation. Look up Terry Winters for bio art inspiration too. Nice work!
